We provide all the gear, from light tackle spinning rods to fresh bait, so you can focus on hooking up. And don't worry if you're new to fishing - we'll show you the ropes and have you reeling in keepers in no time.
Inshore fishing around Edisto is all about reading the water and knowing where the fish will be as the tide moves. We'll use a mix of techniques to put you on the bite. Expect to do some sight casting to tailing redfish in the grass, flipping soft plastics around dock pilings for flounder, or soaking live bait near oyster bars for big black drum. The beauty of inshore fishing is how quickly we can change spots and tactics if the fish aren't cooperating in one area. Your captain will keep you in the action all trip long.
"I've fished all along the East Coast, and Dock-Lines was by far the best experience I've ever had. After catching over 40 fish, the captain was actually apologetic, saying the bite is usually even better. Don't miss out on this trip!" - Jared
"Captain Parker was an energetic, knowledgeable guide who made our fishing trip memorable. Despite challenging windy conditions inshore, he adapted quickly, moving us to fish structure up the creeks. We had an amazing time catching Redfish, Drum, and even a big Sheepshead. Parker kept us fishing efficiently, rebaiting and rerigging as needed. The 18' flat-bottom boat was ideal for the conditions, allowing us to get right up on the structure. He cleaned our keepers and even provided a machine for ice. We're already planning to book a full-day trip with him next year when we return!" - Erik
"Parker is the man! We were never the type to pay for or go on a fishing charter, and I was initially against it. But I was completely wrong—going out with Parker that day was one of the best decisions we've ever made. He took extra care with my older son, ensuring he hooked the biggest and best fish. Within just 5 or 10 minutes, we felt like we had known Parker for 20 years. He made us feel right at home and kept us on fish the whole time. He's an excellent guide and captain, and I would highly recommend him to anyone—both locals and visitors to the area. My family and I will definitely be back. We had an amazing time and made memories that will last a lifetime. Thanks, Parker, you're the best!" - Austin
Black Drum: These bruisers are the bulldogs of the inshore world. Ranging from 5 to over 50 pounds, black drum put up a great fight and make excellent table fare. They love hanging around structure like bridge pilings and oyster bars. We'll target them with fresh cut bait or crabs, especially during the spring and fall when they're most active. The telltale "thump" of a drum bite will get your heart racing every time.
Sheepshead: Don't let their striped appearance fool you - these fish are masters of bait-stealing. Sheepshead have powerful, human-like teeth perfect for crushing crabs and barnacles. We'll fish for them around hard structure using fiddler crabs or oysters. The satisfaction of finally hooking one of these wily fish is hard to beat. They're most abundant in the cooler months and make for some of the best eating fish in the sea.
Sea Trout: Also known as speckled trout, these spotted beauties are a favorite among light tackle anglers. We'll target them with soft plastics or live shrimp around grass lines and oyster bars. Sea trout are most active in the fall when the water cools down. Their aggressive strikes and acrobatic fights make them a blast to catch, and they're delicious on the grill too.
Redfish: The crown jewel of inshore fishing, redfish (also called red drum) are pound-for-pound one of the hardest fighting fish in these waters. We'll sight fish for them in the shallows or target them around structure with live bait. Redfish can be caught year-round, but the fall "flood tide" season is prime time as they push up into the spartina grass to feed. There's nothing quite like watching a redfish's copper-colored back and signature spot as it tails in skinny water.

My fiancé and I booked a 4-hour morning trip with Parker, having never done anything like this before, and we had an amazing time. Parker is incredibly knowledgeable, professional, and makes everything seem effortless. He took care of everything for us with ease. As someone who gets motion sick easily, the calm inshore waters were no issue at all. Cruising around in the early morning was peaceful and relaxing. Parker knows the area like the back of his hand, and we caught several fish. It was definitely the highlight of our trip to Edisto, and we’d recommend this experience to anyone visiting the area.

Parker did an outstanding job and will be my go-to guide for all my future trips to Edisto. He knows the waters inside and out and got us on plenty of fish. My wife and I landed two doubles within the first 15 minutes, and we never really slowed down. If we did, Parker would move us to a new spot. We had a great time getting to know Parker, and I’d highly recommend him to anyone looking for a fantastic fishing experience.

Black Drum are hefty fighters, typically weighing 5-30 pounds but can reach up to 90. You'll find them in brackish waters and estuaries, often around oyster beds and muddy flats. They're bottom-feeders with strong jaws, crushing shellfish and crabs. Spring's the best time to target them, as they school up for spawning. Drum put up a good fight and make decent table fare when smaller, but bigger ones can be tough and less tasty. To catch 'em, use fresh crab or clams on the bottom. Here's a local trick: listen for their distinctive croaking sound – it can give away their location, especially during spawning season. Patient anglers enjoy the challenge of outwitting these wary fish, and their powerful runs make for an exciting catch.
Redfish are one of our most popular targets, known for their coppery color and black spot near the tail. They typically range from 20-30 inches inshore, but can grow much larger. You'll find them in shallow water, often 1-4 feet deep, around oyster beds, grass flats, and mud bottoms. Fall is prime time, but they're catchable year-round. Anglers love 'em for their strong fights and excellent table fare. To catch redfish, try sight-fishing in clear shallows or blind-casting near structure. Here's a pro tip: on calm days, look for their tails sticking up as they feed in shallow water. Use a gold spoon or a soft plastic on a jighead, working it slowly along the bottom. There's nothing quite like the thrill of a redfish taking your bait in skinny water!
Sea Trout, also called Speckled Trout, are a favorite here in Edisto Beach. They usually run 14-24 inches and put up a sporty fight. You'll find them in grass flats and shallow waters, especially at night. They love to hang out near creek mouths and oyster bars. Fall and spring are prime seasons, but you can catch 'em year-round. Trout are fun to target because they hit lures aggressively and taste great on the table. Here's a local secret: try using a popping cork with a live shrimp about 18 inches below. The noise attracts trout from a distance. Cast near structure and retrieve slowly with occasional pops. These fish are a blast on light tackle, and their delicate white meat is perfect for a fresh fish fry.
Sheepshead are quirky-looking fish with human-like teeth and black stripes that earn them the nickname "convict fish." They usually weigh 1-8 pounds and hang around structures like docks, bridges, and reefs. Look for barnacle-covered pilings – that's prime sheepshead territory. Spring's a great time to target them, but you can catch 'em year-round. Anglers love the challenge; these fish are notorious bait stealers. They've got a mild, sweet taste that's hard to beat. Here's a tip: use a small, sharp hook with fiddler crab or oysters. When you feel a nibble, wait a second before setting the hook. These fish require finesse, but landing a big one is seriously satisfying. Just watch out for those chompers when you're unhooking them!
